Gracielle Higino

Gracielle Higino (PhD) is an open science specialist, educator and community manager. She completed her PhD in Ecology and Evolution at Universidade Federal de Goiás in 2021, and has since then been working on training strategy and mentorship on open science projects in Ecology and Evolution, programming languages and reproducible practices, advocacy for the open movement, and championing EDI principles in the computational research ecosystem in Canada. She’s a certified Carpentries instructor and Mozilla Open Leaders alumni.

Dr. Higino supports the SFU community in becoming the first open university in Canada, connecting existing programs and empowering decentralized initiatives around open practices across faculties.
