Connecting Arts, Community & Collaboration
About Us
Cultural Presentations (CP) is a program under Production and Event Services (GCAPES) at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (SFU GCA).
The Cultural Presentations Manager (CPM) supports events across SFU’s outstanding venues and versatile spaces, ideal for a wide range of creative and cultural activities from arts productions, dance, music, and theatre to film screenings and industry events, we provide the ideal environment for a vibrant blend of professional and community-driven artistic experiences.
We believe in the important role of the arts to foster dialogue, inspire creativity, and build community.
SFU GCA is also home of SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts (SCA), and their work is closely aligned, focusing on supporting both current and former SCA and SFU students.
“Having access to the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts has been such a gift to our program and to those who get to see the finished projects the way they are intended to be seen."
- Dana Oikawa, Downtown Eastside Small Arts Grants
Our Vision
Rooted in a legacy of partnership and artistic excellence, Cultural Presentations continues the original mission of SFU Goldcorp Centre of the Arts—to collaborate with professional arts organizations and community groups across disciplines and backgrounds.
Through this work, we aim to sustain GCA as a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally active space for diverse voices to be seen and heard.
Meet the Cultural Presentations Manager
We are proud to welcome Janice Beley as our Cultural Presentations Manager. Formerly a Producer with SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs and the Vancity Office of Community Engagement, Janice brings years of experience and dedication to professional and community-engaged arts.
In this role, she serves as a dedicated point of contact for groups seeking to present work in our spaces—nurturing long-term relationships while inviting new collaborators to our space.
“We have felt very supported when it comes to booking and navigating availability and costs thanks to Janice Beley, Cultural Presentations Manager. Janice is an incredible advocate for what we and so many small arts organizations in Vancouver do.”
- Chiara Lucchetta, Festival of Recorded Movement
"Janice Beley, Cultural Presentations Manager, has been incredible to work with. She cares deeply about the Troublemakers program and has worked hard to make sure we have the spaces that we need to deliver the program successfully. The space has been very accessible—from pre-planning to use during the program."
