Why Idle No More with First Nations Chief Satsan

2013, Indigenous Voices, Democracy

The SFU Beedie School of Business and SFU Public Square are honoured to co-host Satsan (Herb George), hereditary chief of the Frog Clan of the Wet’suwet’en Nation, as he discusses the Idle No More movement, as well as meaningful changes in the past and future for Canada’s Aboriginal peoples.

Idle No More is an ongoing protest movement originating among Canada’s First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples. It is gathering support from the non-Aboriginal population in Canada, and internationally. The movement promotes indigenous sovereignty and seeks to protect water, air, land and all creation for future generations.

Come to this free event to find out why Idle No More is generating unprecedented interest in understanding concerns of Aboriginal peoples in Canada and why it matters to everyone.
