2026, Cities, The Future We Want The Change We Need, Engage in Global Challenges

2026

They want to run Vancouver. First, they have to get through us.

SFU Public Square and The Tyee hosted the Mayoral Mixer, a lively election event where politics podcaster Mo Amir and Tyee city reporter Jen St. Denis put the mayoral candidates on center stage. The event featured sharp questions on housing and development, public safety, drug policy, AI data centres, infrastructure costs and city finances.

Confirmed candidates included Team, Vote Vancouver, the Greens, and Vancouver Liberals.

This event was co-presented with The Tyee.

The Tyee is an independent, reader-supported online news magazine from B.C. They’re devoted to fact-driven stories, reporting and analysis that informs and enlivens our democratic conversation.
