Community Connect Program

The Community Connect Program aims to support young English Language Learner (ELL) elementary and high school students in grades 5-10 through reading, homework help, and transition to life in Canada. Through a special partnership between SFU and SD36, students applied their interpersonal, communication, cross-cultural awareness and instructional skills by assisting with program delivery and activities. Students used empathy and relationship-building skills by developing healthy relationships with the children/youth in the program.
