Sports Medicine – Clinic Assistant, Athletics & Recreation

The Clinic Assistant position is an opportunity to practice the skills learned in BPK 241 in a real life setting. SFU Sport Medicine is a multi-discipline clinic serving our varsity athletes throughout their careers representing Canada’s NCAA team.

Clinic Assistants volunteer two hours a week where they observe treatments, provide first aid and prophylactic taping for injured athletes and help with the day to day operations of the clinic. This placement leads to our Student Trainer program where volunteers work directly with our teams, helping out at practices and games. Through these opportunities students learn about careers in the health-care field and gain hands on experience in a fast paced and exciting setting.
