Writing and Learning Peer Educator

Writing and Learning Peer Educators meet one on one with students, both in person and virtually, to offer academic support.  The support provided is primarily around writing for academic purposes, and may also include support around other aspects of academic success such as study strategies, reading, exam writing, or time management. Upon completion of training and direct service time requirements, Writing and Learning Peers can earn internationally recognized tutoring certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

Writing and Learning Peers are part of the larger program of Peer Education. Peer Educators commit to volunteering for two (2) terms starting in Fall 2023; the two terms do not need to be consecutive.

Consultation shifts are located at the Student Learning Commons on the Burnaby and/or Surrey campuses, with the possibility of some shifts taking place remotely. Weekly meetings take place almost exclusively at the Burnaby campus.

Location: 3rd Floor, Bennett Library (Burnaby) and/or Room 3695 Podium Level (Surrey)
