Some of Venture Connection's key services are delivered through the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship as part of the Discovery Foundation Tech4Impact Program. These services include Mentor Meet, the Embedded Mentor program and inspirational DesignJams.

Created to promote and support British Columbia’s high tech research and development industry, Discovery Foundation, a registered charity, facilitates innovation by delivering the Technology Education Program (TEP). As funding agents of the Discovery Foundation, together the Chang Institute and Venture Connection’s programs have benefited from over $400,000 through the foundation's TEP since 2010.

Some of Venture Connection's services to support early stage ventures are delivered through the SFU Innovates Life Sciences Stream (LSS) Program, funded by Genome BC.  Through the LSS, Genome BC has invested over $500,000 in SFU entrepreneurs since 2017.

Genome British Columbia is a catalyst for the life sciences cluster on Canada’s West Coast, and manages a cumulative portfolio of over $660M in 211 research projects and science and technology platforms. Working with governments, academia and industry across sectors such as forestry, fisheries and aquaculture, agri-food, energy and mining, environment, and human health, the goal of the organization is to generate social and economic benefits for British Columbia and Canada. Genome BC is supported by the Province of British Columbia, the Government of Canada through Genome Canada and Western Economic Diversification Canada and more than 300 international public and private co-funding partners.

For more than 30 years, Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) has been working to diversify the western economy while improving the quality of life of western Canadians. We aim to be a leader in building a strong, competitive West by focusing on business development, innovation and community development.

Venture Connection is a key program within the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship.  The Chang Institute is the interdisciplinary home and academic hub for entrepreneurship and innovation at Simon Fraser University within the Beedie School of Business and in partnership with all SFU Faculties.
