Dr. Marianne Tolar is a post-doctoral fellow and research associate at the ATIC lab. In her work, she combines her backgrounds in social sciences and computer science to study the use of computers in different areas (e.g. health care, education), using concepts and theories from the fields of computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) and science and technology studies (STS). Through ethnographic studies she investigates the mutual shaping of work and supporting computerized information and communication systems.
