To celebrate SFU's 40th anniversary, members of the Campus Activity Group are putting together a cookbook that will make its debut at the June 3rd Open House. You are invited to submit a recipe (or two)!

You may recall that several years ago an SFU cookbook was produced that raised over $5,000.  This time, we hope to raise another significant amount that will be evenly split between United Way and SFU.  The focus of the cookbook will be recipes for students learning to cook in their first years away from home (or living in their parent's basement!)

The cookbook will have sections devoted to easy recipes for first time cooks, for entertaining friends, for taking to potlucks, and for senior students with more adventurous cooking skills.  Appetizers, salads, soups, stews, pastas & sauces, and desserts will be featured.

As many students in residence and suites have limited access to elaborate kitchen equipment, no-bake recipes, one-pot meals and microwave dishes are very welcome.  The focus should be on fun recipes involving simple ingredients.  If there is a student living in your home, we encourage you to consult with them and submit a recipe from them too!

The deadline for recipe submissions is Tues. April 18th.  We invite you to submit your recipe through an on-line form at:

https://webform.sfu.ca/form/forty.cookbook

Simply log-in with your SFU computing ID and password (the same as your email) and follow the instructions.  Press the submit button to review the details of your masterpiece, press the submit button again and you will likely become a published author!

Your recipe will be baked or assembled and tested by an astute panel of judges with sharpened taste buds:  Fiona Burrows, Paulette Johnston, Leigh McGregor, Hiromi Matsui, Vito Modigliani, Heather Rhodes (more bakers and judges are needed: volunteer by emailing Paulette Johnston at pjohnsto@sfu.ca)

Some creations will be photographed for the book, and thanks to the design team of Ivana Filipovic and Jonathan Nodrick in LIDC the cookbook will be a visual treat.  Also a special thanks to Raj Nadrajan in Reprographics who will be printing and publishing it with the support of Xerox.

We look forward to receiving your great recipes!
