| July 22 | Western Dean's Agreement deadline for both SFU students applying to take transfer courses at other western Canadian universities and for external students looking to take courses at SFU. No applications will be accepted after this date. |
September 2025 |

| Sept 3 | Fall term classes start. |

| Sept 9 | 4:30pm Deadline for submitting a U-Pass BC exemption request for Fall. |
| Sept 12 | End of Bursary application period (bursaries are awarded based on financial need; international students are eligible) |
| Sept 16 | Last day to opt out or change your coverage in the Graduate Health Plan Last day for graduate students to enroll through self-service (late enrollment deadline) Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition. For refunds on U-Passes, please refer to the U-Pass website. Last day to change from credit to audit grade basis. Tuition and fees are due and payable. Every month after this date, a 2% penalty will be calculated and posted to your student account. |

| Oct 1 | Early completion submission deadline of Thesis at 11:59pm (PT). Last day to be eligible for 75% early completion tuition refund. |

| Oct 13 | Thanksgiving Day. University closed. |
| Oct 31 | Last day for a 50% refund of tuition for term withdrawals (and course drops for unit fee students). No refund of ancillary fees. |
November 2025 |

| Nov 3 | Enrollment opens for Spring 2026 term. |
| Nov 4 | Last day for graduate students to drop classes with WD on their transcripts |
| Nov 11 | Remembrance Day. All classes cancelled and offices closed. |
| Nov 14 | End of Work-study application period. |
| Nov 16 | Western Dean's Agreement deadline for both SFU students applying to take transfer courses at other western Canadian universities and for external students looking to take courses at SFU. No applications will be accepted after this date. |
December 2025 |

| Dec 2 | Classes end for Fall term. |
| Dec 4-16 | Examination period. If you are a current TA and want to pay to extend your TSSU medical insurance for up to two terms, application forms are due by the end of the term. (See also: All HR forms.) |
| Dec 12 | Final deadline to apply on goSFU for graduation if you are completeing requirements in the Fall 2025 term to attend convocation in June 2026. |
| Dec 16 - 22 | Requests to schedule defences during this time must include a supporting rationale. |
| Dec 22 | Grade Deadline. Last day for submission of all graduate degree requirements for Fall 2025 term (library submission deadline at 11:59PM). Any Withdrawal under Extenuating circumstances (WE) requests received for the Fall 2025 term after this date will be considered as a retroactive WE. |
| Dec 23 - Jan 8 | Defence blackout. No Masters or Doctoral defences may be scheduled during this time. |

| Jan 9 | Deadline for submitting a U-Pass BC Exemption request for Spring (4:30pm PT). |
| Jan 16 | End of Bursary application period (bursaries are awarded based on financial need; international students are eligible). |
| Jan 18 | Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition. For refunds on U-Passes, please refer to the U-Pass website. Last day for graduate students to enroll themselves through self-service. Last day to request a change in grading basis from credit to audit. |
| Jan 19 | Deadline to pay tuition and student fees. See How to Pay, and note it takes up to five business days for your payment to be received and show in goSFU. A 2% monthly interest charge will be assessed after the due date and on the first of each month thereafter. |
| Jan 25 | Last day to drop with no notation on transcript. |
| Jan 31 | Last day to drop with a 75% refund of tuition. No refund of ancillary fees or January U-Pass BC. Last day for receipt of grades deferred from the Fall 2025 term (unless further extension has been approved). April 2026 |

| May 16 | Deadline for submitting a U-Pass BC Exemption request for Summer. Requests must be submitted by 4:30 pm PST. |
| May 19 | Victoria Day. All classes cancelled and offices closed. |
| May 23 | Grad tuition and fees (including co-op practicum fees) are due and payable. A 2% penalty will be calculated and posted to your student account every month. |
| May 25 | Last day for graduate students to enroll through self-service (late enrollment deadline) Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition and ancillary fees. If you were eligible for the May U-Pass BC, there is no refund of the May U-Pass BC but you will be refunded for the June-August U-Pass BC. Last day to change from credit to audit grade basis.
