As the purpose of this project was only to discover and explore the alternative pipeline route with the least environmental impact, many realistic aspects in building a pipeline such as slope, First Nation reserve land, population density of the neighbouring area, etc into consideration.

The analysis would be more conclusive if the analysis could start from Edmonton, Alberta to Burnaby, BC. Unfortunately, due to the difficulties in accessing open data from Alberta, the analysis of this project could only stay between the BC boundary at this point.

Compared to the alternate routes generated by Idrisi, Kinder Morgan's proposed route crossed over more area of Jasper National Park, located closer to endangered species around Kamloops. and crossed over a more endangered species habitat around Surrey, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford area.
