Areas suitable for Cultural Bathing
This analysis reflects the specific spatial characteristics
that are required in locations suitable for cultural
bathing. This activity involves the submersion of the
body in fresh cold water as a means of ritual purification
and is usually done in wilderness locations. Therefore,
the analysis has been designed to identify locations
with access to water that are located in old-growth
forests and occur in regions with a walkable slope.
In addition, aspect has been considered as a factor
which might affect the temperature of the water and
the air and roads have been considered as a means of
access. Finally, viewsheds have also been determined
in order to produce a rough idea of areas which cannot
be seen from known roads. This variable is important
as privacy is required for this activity. Download
