Areas Suitable for Harvesting Tumulh
As mentioned above, a tumulh query was originally designed by the former GIS technicians of the Squamish Nation to identify where on the traditional territory the soft red fibre of rotten old-growth red cedar could be found. This query was never carried out due to issues with the forest cover data at the time. The query shown here is an adapted version of original.

Locations suitable for tumulh harvesting require stands of old red cedar, at lower elevations, with walkable slopes. Access by roads can also be considered desireable. Download Map
