Areas Suitable for Cultural Camps
This model is adapted from the habitation model included in the MoF Archaeological Overview Assessment. While full-time habitation in the study area might not be likely, this model was included as it shows locations were structures such as cultural camps and longhouses can be constructed.

Characteristics which were deemed favorable for habitation sites included a relatively level slope, close proximity to a water source and low elevation. These characteristics were taken almost directly from the AOA. As has been noted above however, the AOA ruled out habitation in low elevation flood plains as archaeological evidence is often washed away in these locations. These low elevation flood plains are however deemed to be suitable in our model as we are concerned with present and future rather than past use. Download Map
