2017 Conference Theme

The beginning of this new century has accentuated the need to rethink the entire enterprise of education, from pedagogy to curriculum to what constitutes a place of learning. In the province of British Columbia, we are entering a new age in BC curriculum for public and higher education. Central to this paradigm shift are fundamental concerns about what constitutes teaching and learning in a world comprised of multiple realities that are continuously changing. How much of our past and present practices can be carried forward to the future? If some, if not most, of what we’ve been doing in education no longer works, then what should the education of our unfolding future look like?
