CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

This seminar is designed for the second term of the doctoral program in Languages, Cultures, and Literacies in the Faculty of Education. It will provide students with opportunities to examine and practice analytical research procedures that are currently in the forefront of multiliteracies and multimodal research oriented to transformative educational scholarship.

COURSE DETAILS:

Ce cours est offert dans le cadre du deuxième semestre du programme de doctorat Langues, Cultures et Littératies à la Faculté d’éducation. Ce cours offre aux étudiant.e.s des opportunités d’observations et d’applications de méthodes de recherche à l’avant-garde des développements dans les approches ethnographiques et multimodales. Les étudiant.e.s seront amenés à faire l’analyse critique d’approches méthodologiques dans les recherches actuelles en éducation.

Grading

  • Travail 1 – Présentations critique d'articles 25%
  • Travail 2 – Option A : Recension d’un ouvrage récent portant sur une approche ethnographique et multimodale. Option B: Recension d’un thèse de doctorat récente 25%
  • Travail 3 – Observation, entrevue, analyse de documents, analyse 50%

NOTES:

Ce cours implique des activités obligatoires sur le terrain en dehors du contexte de classe régulier. Les risques associés à ces activités sont très faibles et une séance d’information aura lieu en classe avant chacune de ces activités pour en préciser la teneur.

Il n’y a pas de livres requis pour ce cours.   Des articles scientifiques et extraits d’ouvrages seront mis à la disposition des étudiants et étudiantes sur Canvas.
