Undergraduate
Welcome to the undergraduate section of the Political Science Department's web site! Here you will find information for both students who are currently enrolled at SFU as well as for those who are thinking of coming to study here.
SFU has one of the most beautiful settings for a campus and provides a well rounded undergraduate program - all in the heart of the greater Vancouver area. As a political science student, you will learn and discuss the deep and complex issues of the day, from climate change to global poverty. A political science degree teaches writing, analytical, and argumentation skills that are widely applicable in a variety of fields. Many of our students have gone on to work for local and federal government, international and non-government organizations, various media outlets, public interest groups, and in education. Others have gone on to law school and other professional degree programs. SFU is a great place to study political science. By your 3rd and 4th year, you will be in small seminar-type classes with professors leading the discussion. Our faculty members are among Canada’s leading experts in a variety of fields from international development to Canadian politics to participatory democracy. SFU also offers a terrific co-op program that gives students the opportunity to get up to four terms of workplace experience as part of their degree.
Have a roam around our site and if you don't find the information you are interested in, or have further questions, please contact us. We will be glad to help you out with questions about course selections, program requirements, and career choices
