A HIPPY Participant

HIPPY at home, happy at school

The first children to benefit from SFU's three-year-old Home Instructional Program for Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) enrolled in Grade One this year, and their strong academic performance underscores the value of this innovative educational outreach program, soon to be implemented across Canada. In 2001, HIPPY's volunteer home visitors helped more than 100 disadvantaged families give their children the lasting gift of early literacy.
