The Marg Jones Stakes: Hastings Racetrack
Hello again, retirees.
I'm pleased to announce that arrangements have been made for a repeat of the annual Day at the Races at Hastings Racetrack. The "Marg Jones Stakes" (as it's known to SFURA members) will be run on Saturday, August 10th, 2013 starting at 1 pm. Details follow the body of this email below. Last year, 40 people attended this very entertaining event and I hope that we can entice similar numbers to attend this year.
Please note the August 5th deadline for response. I have an out-of-town holiday from July 27th to August 5th, so I need to have everything in place for my return on the 6th. If you plan on attending it would really help if you respond as soon as possible, especially because Silks requires me to put down a 25% deposit. I've booked for 30 attendees. If actual numbers vary by more than 12 from that number, it will screw up the account(ant).

The above price includes entrance, afternoon buffet, gratuity, and GST, but not program or parking.
To park, enter through PNE Gate #6 off Renfrew Street. Parking is $10 (tell the attendant that you are going to Hastings Racecourse and receive a special parking ticket that you can exchange for a Live Racing Program). Programs are also available for sale at the entrance to Silks Restaurant.
Note, beginning at 11:30 am, Translink offers a Complimentary Courtesy Shuttle every half hour (on the hour and half-hour) from the Renfrew Skytrain Station to Hastings Racecourse,.
Walk through the Clubhouse Entrance, and take the elevator to Silks Restaurant. A Customer Service Representative will direct or escort you to our reserved section in the Silks Restaurant which will be available from 12:30 onward. It is recommended you arrive 30 minutes prior to Post Time for the first race which is at 1:50 pm. There will be eight races, so you can come early and stay until the end (approximately 6 pm) or leave after you have enjoyed a few races and refreshments.
Buffet will be served from 1 pm until 3:30 pm.
