THE HELLENIC STUDIES PROGRAM AT SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY INVITES APPLICATIONS FORA LIMITED TERM LECTURER POSITION IN GREEK LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2013
The Hellenic Studies Program at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a two year Limited Term Lecturer position in Greek Literature and Language.
The position will be responsible for teaching courses in Greek Mythology, Greek Literature, both ancient and modern. This will include: gender, literary theory, life writing, politics and identity, exploring themes in literature and conflict, the relation of historical memory, war, and literature, and cultural continuities and discontinuities.
Qualifications must include a completed PhD, the ability to speak, read, and write Modern Greek. In addition, the candidate should also have experience in managing, developing and directing online courses.
Other assets include a demonstrated ability to participate in the outreach activities of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies at SFU. The successful candidate will be invited to become a member of the Centre.
This position is subject to budgetary approval.
