Totem Pole in Athens

Restoring a piece of Canadian culture in the Benaki Museum, Athens Greece.

Thanks to the efforts of Canada’s Ambassador to Athens S.E. Robert Peck, a small corner of Canada’s heritage has been restored.  The totem pole represents a significant aspect of Canada’s unique multicultural identity, highlighted by the artistic contributions of the First Nations.  We are grateful for the generosity of the donors who have made possible the restoration of the totem pole.

The donors for the Totem Pole restoration were:
Jim Heras
C. Harry Katevatis
Faculty of Environment, SFU
SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies, SFU

The restoration was also made possible thanks to the partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Benaki Museum in Athens.
