Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations require all international students (study permit holders) at SFU to actively pursue studies while in Canada. The immigration regulations also allow full-time international students enrolled at SFU in certain eligible programs to work on campus, part-time off campus, full-time during scheduled school breaks, and participating in SFU-approved co-op or internship work terms without a work permit, if meeting IRCC's eligibility requriements.

It is the student's responsibility to maintain valid status in Canada and to continue to meet all conditions of the study permit. Regularly Scheduled Break

Based on Regulation 186(v)(iii) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, eligible students can work full-time during a regularly scheduled break.
