Upcoming: COALESCE at the Friesen 2026 Conference
COALESCE is pleased to be part of the 2026 Friesen Conference, hosted by Simon Fraser University. This year’s theme, Climate Change in an Aging World, brings together researchers, practitioners, and community members to explore how climate change is shaping the lives and wellbeing of older adults.
At the conference, the COALESCE team will share emerging insights from our work with older adults across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, highlighting everyday experiences of climate change and the important role older adults play as leaders and co-researchers in climate action.
Panel Discussion (Chair Dr. Mei Fang): From Participants to Co-Researchers: Older Adults in Climate Action Research
April 22, 2026 | 1:00 - 2:15 PM
This session brings together COALESCE co-researchers and student researchers to reflect on collaborative, community-based approaches to climate research, and the value of lived experience in shaping meaningful solutions.
Panelists include Dannah DeSouza, Sreya Ajay, Claire Dreyfuss, Tobias Jesso, Ruth Ain, Ann Backhouse, and Stephen Sheppard.
