Research

Computational linguistics is the quantitative empirical study of language. We use mathematical techniques to observe patterns in language at superhuman scale. This involves techniques in machine learning, "artificial intelligence," statistical analysis, and feature engineering. The application of computational linguistics to spoken language adds signal processing challenges and new features such as suprasegmental features that text cannot provide.
