Machine Learning for Spoken Language

Our research applies the machine learning techniques that are fundamental to Natural Language Processing to spoken language data. We focus how compututational techniques can improve our understanding of human behaviour, and how linguistic information can improve speech processing technologies such as Automatic Speech Recognition.

Our Work

Research in the lab sits at the cornerstone of artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal processing, and acoustic phonetics. Our work seeks to understand linguistic behaviour using mathematical techniques beyond human-scale, and to use these insights to make better technologies.
