Christina is a SFU Beedie graduate with a passion for exploring the intersection of technology, design, and marketing to make positive social and environmental impacts. With over 6 years of omni-channel retail management under her belt, she is experienced in team development, sales, and executing digital marketing strategies to tell shared narratives and foster a sense of community. More recently she’s held other roles such as a Content Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketing Strategist and at the Centre for Dialogue, she is an Officer, for Communications, Engagement And Knowledge Mobilization. Christina is constantly merging storytelling and her design expertise to share compelling narratives, always with the ultimate goal of strengthening a sense of community and the feeling of inclusion and belonging.
In all her roles, Christina is constantly looking forward to learning new skills, engaging with folks over emerging social and environmental issues, and meeting new people and hearing their stories. In her spare time, you'll find her cooking up a storm, taking care of her plants, or chasing away her cats from chomping on said plants.
What is your role at the Centre for Dialogue?
In my current role as a Communications Officer at the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, I manage a range of portfolios that require anything from graphic design to strategic communications, branding, website user testing, social media management, web design, and even event planning and support.
What does dialogue mean to you?
To me, dialogue means entering into a space of curiosity and vulnerability with other folks who are also open to learning, unlearning and re-examining current perspectives. Dialogue means learning and listening to other folks’ stories and experiences in a place without judgement and with compassion.
What is a common assumption you'd like to de-mistify?
A common assumption that I’d like to de-mistify is that you don’t need to be an expert on something in order to share your lived experiences. What you’ve experienced is real, matters, and is just as valid as a viewpoint as any others’.
