Dr. Joel Heng Hartse

Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Education

Research Interests

Most of my work focuses on the real-world consequences of language difference in academic writing and publishing, as well as in education and society at large. My research interests include second language writing, language variation and ideology, academic writing and publishing pedagogies, the globalization of English, and the intersection of academic integrity and academic literacies. For information about my SSHRC-funded study on students who paid for academic support services, please visit www.pass-study.ca.

Please note that as a Senior Lecturer I cannot be the senior supervisor of MA or PhD students, but I may be able to co-supervise with another faculty member if you are interested in working with me.
