Research Interests

As a registered psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Counselling Psychology program, my scholarship centres on the caring connections that support youth mental health across multiple contexts. My earlier work examined how parents collaborate to support their children in treatment for eating disorders, while my current research focuses on alliance formation between youth and counsellors and school-based career development as mental health intervention.

My approach to research is community-based and practice-oriented. While I value diverse methodological approaches, I am particularly drawn to methods that centre relational processes, and I frequently use the action-project method in my work.

I typically supervise one thesis student per year (unless otherwise posted) and welcome inquiries from community practitioners and agencies serving young people who are interested in embedding inquiry within their settings to respond to practice needs.
