Research Interests

My research is inspired by broad questions about how best to address the needs of students for whom school is often challenging and whom schools have historically not supported well.

More specifically, my research focuses on the areas of reading development and instruction of English language learners and on the historical emergence, practice, and ongoing development of the constructs of learning disabilities and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in school contexts.
