The History department was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of William Cleveland, Professor of Middle East History in late September 2006. At the invitation of Gretchen Cleveland, faculty, staff and students from across the university joined Bill's family and friends on November 10, 2006 in the Halpern Centre at Simon Fraser University for a celebration of his life.
