It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Jodi Vijloen, the Associate Director of the Institute for the Reduction of Youth Violence. Jodi was a valued colleague, a cherished mentor, and a brilliant scholar. Jodi’s students and collaborators will continue to manage her current projects and advance her vision to support youth involved in the criminal justice system. Robert McMahon, PhD, Director of the IRYV, was selected as a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS). This honor reflects “sustained outstanding contributions to the advancement of psychological science.”

Robert McMahon, PhD, Director of the IRYV, was selected by the Society of Prevention Research as the winner of the 2020 Presidential Award. The SPR Presidential Award is a “lifetime achievement” award for a significant body of research or theory in prevention science that has had a major impact on the field.
