How to contribute
The KM Hub blog showcases diverse perspectives, innovative practices, and lessons learned in knowledge mobilization (KM). We invite researchers, students, practitioners, community partners and more to share insights that may interest fellow knowledge mobilizers.
Submission Guidelines
Content & Topics
We welcome blog posts on a wide range of KM topics, including:
- Research projects that incorporate KM approaches
- Reflections on KM successes, challenges, or lessons learned
- Community-engaged and co-created research initiatives
- KM tools, resources, or methods
- Events, programs, or activities related to knowledge mobilization
- Emerging issues, trends, or developments in the field
- Reviews or reflections on articles, reports, tools, or KM resources
Images & Visual Content
Required:
- One high-quality horizontal image to serve as the blog banner
As Needed:
- Additional photos, graphics, or figures to include throughout the post
- Brief captions for each image
- Photo credits, if applicable
Authors must have permission to use and share all submitted images and consent from any individuals appearing in photographs where necessary.
Length
- Recommended length: 600 to 800 words
- Longer or shorter submissions may be accepted if appropriate for the topic
Style
- Clear, accessible, and engaging
- Written for a non-specialist audience
- Conversational rather than academic in tone
- Organized using descriptive subheadings
- Composed of short paragraphs for readability
- Free of jargon where possible
- Hyperlinks to relevant resources
Authorship
Blog posts may be written by:
- Individual authors
- Multiple co-authors
- Research teams
- Community-academic partnerships
- Collaborations among students, faculty, staff, practitioners, and community organizations

Submission and Review Process
Step 1: Submit a draft
- Email your draft and any accompanying images to the KM Hub team in either a Word document or an editable Google Doc
Step 2: Editorial review
- The editorial team will review your submission for:
- Clarity and accessibility
- Alignment with the KM Hub's goals and audience
- Style and formatting
- Accessibility considerations
- Grammar and minor copyediting
- We aim to provide initial feedback within 2-3 weeks of submission
- Editorial changes may be made to improve readability and consistency. Substantive changes will be discussed with the author before publication
Step 3: Author Approval
- You will receive a draft of the edited post for review and approval
- If any edits or suggestions require further discussion, we will correspond via email
Step 4: Publication
- Once finalized, the post will be scheduled for publication (timeline dependent on capacity)
- The published blog will be promoted via:
- The KM Hub LinkedIn
- The KM Hub newsletter
Submission Checklist

FAQ
Can I submit AI generated content?
AI‑generated content isn’t suited to the KM Hub blog. You may use AI tools for light editing, but the ideas and narrative should be your own. AI‑generated images aren’t permitted unless your post specifically discusses AI.
Will the KM Hub blog accept all submissions?
We welcome diverse contributions across the KM ecosystem. If a piece needs adjustment to fit the blog’s purpose, the KM Hub will work with you to refine it. Some submissions may be declined if they fall outside our mandate.
Do I retain copyright for my work?
Yes! Authors keep full copyright to their work. The KM Hub publishes content under non‑exclusive rights, so you’re free to share, repost, or republish your piece elsewhere.
