PART-TIME Position Available: Young Lab

LABORATORY ASSISTANT

SFU students interested in part-time employment are welcome to apply for a Laboratory Assistant position in my research lab.

Hours and wages:
Wages of $10-$11/hour will be offered depending on experience, for 4-10 hours per week or more (as preferred by the employee). Scheduling is flexible. Typical part-time appointments are for a 3-4 month contract. Based on suitable job performance and availability of grant funds, possibility exists for increasing hours to 40 h/week, or extending employment beyond the initial contract.

Qualifications:
No prior scientific work experience is necessary, but candidates with an interest in biochemistry (e.g. MBB 222 background) will be preferred.

• performing laboratory experiments in biochemistry or molecular biology
• other routine laboratory maintenance, including handling of aquatic laboratory animals
• database management and other clerical tasks
• other related duties consist with position title
