SFU mechatronics researchers receive Innovate BC award
June 17, 2021
Two Simon Fraser University applied sciences researchers and their industry partner have received the Innovate BC award through its Ignite Program. The program is designed to encourage industry-driven academic research in natural resources and applied sciences in B.C.
This year, Majid Bahrami and Erik Kjeang from the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering, and Shanna Knights from Ballard Power Systems are receiving a total of $300,000. This funding will be used to support their project to develop the next generation of cost-effective, high-power density fuel cells for heavy duty zero emission vehicles.
