PAID RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Drs. Hali Kil and Joanna Peplak in the Department of Psychology are seeking a graduate student to fill the position of Research Assistant on the PACT Project (Perspectives and Adjustment of Climate-displaced Teens).
About the role: This position is a 12-month contract role starting March 13th, 2026. Workload includes 8 hours per week with some training and meetings on the Burnaby campus and on Zoom. Attendance at weekly team meetings over Zoom is mandatory. Responsibilities include scheduling and interviewing youth over Zoom; data management; transcribing interviews; coding data; collaborating with other RAs; engaging with community organizations both in person and online; and other tasks as needed. Opportunities to co-author publications may arise for qualified candidates with relevant prior experience. Students who have prior experience with youth-engaged research, qualitative thematic analyses, lived experience of climate-related displacement, and/or who self-identify as Indigenous persons are especially encouraged to apply.
Rate of pay: $25-32/hour contingent on prior experience, and exclusive of benefits (if applicable) with 10 days of vacation.
