Your Upcoming Year at SFU

August

Check your email towards the end of the month for information on the New Student Orientation hosted by the University.

September

Fall Semester begins right after Labour Day. 

First week has lots of activities, and information sessions and workshops. Check out the SFU Dean of Grad Studies events website for the most up-to-date information.

TA/TM Day

All classes are cancelled on September 30th (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation). 

October

Fall Convocation October 5th - 6th.

Thanksgiving is October 9th. All classes cancelled and offices closed.

November

November 11th is Remembrance Day. All classes cancelled and offices closed.

December

The exams period usually ends the week before Christmas. 

January

New Year's statutory holiday. All classes cancelled and offices closed.

Spring semester begins in the first week of January. 

TA/TM Day

February

The week of Family Day is reading break! Obviously, we're all going to spend that time being super productive, right?

March

Nothing exciting... yet.

April

Easter break. All classes are cancelled and offices are closed, but the University is open on Easter weekend.

The last week of April is usually the end of the exams period.

May

Summer semester begins in the first week of May.

May 21st is Victoria Day, all classes cancelled and offices closed.

June

June 11th-14th is Convocation.

July

July 1st is Canada Day. All classes are cancelled and offices closed.
