VEX Choir

February 24, 2026 – February 9, 2027
Every second Tuesday at 5:30 PM
Audain Gallery at the SCA
149 W. Hastings St., Vancouver

Everyone is invited and welcome to participate

The Vancouver Experimental Choir (VEX) is taking up residency in the Audain Gallery! Please join us for our first session on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM.

VEX was formed by Larissa Loyva in 2025 as an anti-capitalist experiment to engage singers and non-singers alike. We strive to connect with our voices – literally and figuratively – and explore autonomy from traditional music forms, venues and the expectations of performance. Working from prompts and exercises like that of the Fluxus movement, composers such as Pauline Oliveros, and even occasionally reading the artwork in the gallery as a score, the choir aims to sit with the practice of the voice and of deep listening. Because the choir is not working toward a performance, members may attend when they wish. VEX requires no commitment! Membership is open to all SCA students, faculty, and staff, as well as non-SFU folks who wish to sing!
