Mariana Resener joined SEE in January 2022 as an Assistant Professor. With an expertise in the optimization, expansion and operation of power systems as well as the integration of distributed energy resources, she is determined to uncover optimization models to develop a sustainable and resilient energy system.

“I look forward to building a research group and an academic-industry partnership that will address the several challenges related to power systems, which should be part of the response to the climate crisis and net-zero emission targets. We need to rethink how we produce, transport, store, and consume energy, and work towards leveraging potential capabilities of distributed energy resources. In addition, I very much look forward to creating an inclusive learning environment and contributing to position SEE as a leader in energy engineering education.”
