Lyre Magazine Submission Guidelines:

Vision

The Lyre Magazine is a student-run writing and cultural periodical affiliated with Simon Fraser University’s World Literature Program. The Lyre promotes literary work from various cultures, emphasizing the diverse backgrounds of undergraduate students at SFU and around the globe.

Currently preparing our seventh annual issue, we are looking for student-written pieces in a variety of genres. In the spirit of World Literature’s celebration of cultural diversity, we encourage writers and artists to consider the theme “Vision and Time” in their work.

Submission Guidelines: Written Work

The Lyre accepts a variety of genres including (but not limited to): translations, fiction, travelogues, essays, plays, reviews, short-form graphic novels, and poetry. Maximum length for prose is 2500 words; poetry must be fewer than 30 lines. Submissions may be excerpted, depending on length.

Submission Guidelines: Artwork

The Lyre also welcomes submissions of visual artwork, including photography, painting, drawing, digital artwork, and more. Artists are encouraged to consider the theme “Vision and Time" in their work.
