Biography

I am a consulting archaeologist currently working in the Interior of British Columbia. In the past I have also worked in several Australian states. I have experience ranging from survey work to impact assessment and excavation for a variety of clients such as government, forestry, and mining. I have written multiple site forms, interim reports, and contributed to final permit reports for submission to the Archaeology Branch as well as clients. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and mountain biking, and in the winter, I am an avid skier. I am originally from Williams Lake, a small town in British Columbia.

MA Research

While in the M.A. program I intend to investigate mitigation and excavation methods currently being utilized at Teck’s Highland Valley Copper Mine (HVC) and evaluate the effectiveness of data being collected as well as the efficiency and cost effectiveness. Professionally I am working towards holding my first permit and obtaining my R.P.C.A. accreditation. I currently work for the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council as an archaeological Field Director, primarily at HVC.

Other Activities

I grew up in a small town in British Columbia and was encouraged toward outside activities. From going to work in mining with my parents working on reclamation projects to working on ranches for family friends I have spent most of my life exploring the Southern Interior. I am comfortable traveling across varying terrain in vehicles, on a mountain bike, on foot, or on horseback. From both my childhood as well as experience in HRM I am very familiar with forestry roads and trail for a large swath of the province.
