Celebrated writer & UBC media scholar Kamal al-Solaylee unpacks these restless quests, including his own, in conversation with SFU scholar-in-residence, Dr. Amyn Sajoo.

Kamal al-Solaylee is the Director of the UBC school of Journalism and Award-winning author of Brown (2016), Return (2021), and Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes (2012), all published by HarperCollins.

Amyn Sajoo is a Scholar-in-Residence at the School for International Studies and Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at Simon Fraser University. Specializing in human rights & international relations, with a regional focus on the Middle East/Muslim world, his research is at the interface of citizenship and identity.
