Music Requirements

Coursework in the following areas is required for PPS Admissions music applicants:

• Conducting (for instrumental and vocal ensembles) - minimum 3 units
  
• Knowledge of individual instruments; range; performance practice; care and repair (at the very least for one brass and one woodwind instrument)
• Music Theory - minimum 6 units
  
• Some knowledge of various musical genres and historical eras
• Some knowledge of vocal and instrumental repertoire (e.g., World Music)
