Facilities Services is a service department reporting to the Vice President Finance and Administration, Dr. P. Hibbitts. The senior administrative manager of the department is the Chief Facilities Officer, Larry Waddell. There are three units, Development, Operations and Administration with varying responsibilities on three campuses.
Collectively these units are responsible for the stewardship of Simon Fraser University's lands and buildings. Our responsibilities include campus planning, real estate and property management, development of new buildings, maintenance, operation and renovation of buildings, grounds and utility systems, space and system inventory record keeping, and support for sustainability initiatives across the three campuses.
We also provide maintenance and operational services on a fee or cost recovery basis to student residences, food services and a variety of auxiliary units. In all, we provide the above services for more than 432,000 square meters of campus, 156.8 hectares of land, serving approximately 32,700 students.
