Listening Party: Aram Bajakian, Raven Chacon and Gabi Dao

Friday, November 22, 7pm
Western Front, 303 East 8th Avenue, Vancouver

An ongoing series hosted by the Western Front's New Music program, listening parties invite artists, composers and guests to share recent musical and sound works that exert emotional pull. The series also explores the Western Front's own archives, unearthing recordings of artists in their early years through raw, unedited sound files. In dialogue with Relations of Responsibility, this listening party will feature selections made by artists Raven Chacon and Gabi Dao, alongside New Music curator Aram Bajakian.

This event is co-presented by the Western Front and SFU's School for Contemporary Arts' Audain Visual Artist in Residence Program.

Aram Bajakian is the New Music Curator at the Western Front, as well as an accomplished musician and instrumentalist.

Raven Chacon is a composer, performer and installation artist from Fort Defiance, Navajo Nation based in Albuquerque, NM and Toronto, ON.

Gabi Dao is an artist and organizer based on the unceded territories of xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh and Səl̓ílwətaɬ Nations.
