Location

The Gallery is located in the AQ (Academic Quadrangle), the square building at the very centre of campus.
The Gallery is on the 3000 level, on the south side of the AQ, room AQ3004.
Look for the cloth banners hanging from the ceiling, with the words "gallery."

Parking

The closest visitor parking is accessed as follows: come to the centre of campus by taking a left at the only traffic light on the mountain if coming from Hastings, or go straight through the light if coming up Gaglardi Way. At the point where the road goes under the buildings, stay right; when under the building, turn right up a ramp, ignoring the sign saying visitor parking is to the left. Park, pay, (or place our exhibition card on your dash if here for an opening), walk up one level to the Mall; go east to the Academic quadrangle, go up one more level and walk to the south side where you will see the Gallery banners.

A second option is to use Visitors B Lot (VB). Follow directions below.

Directions to SFU

By car from downtown to Visitors' Lot VB (uncovered)

  • Go east on Hastings Street, through North Burnaby
  • Keep right and just past Sperling, veer to the right and proceed uphill along Burnaby Mountain Parkway (follow SFU signs)
  • At main campus traffic lights, go straight (becomes University Drive East)
  • Follow the signs to UniverCity and Tower Road
  • Turn left onto Tower Road
  • Proceed to "B" lots — last one up the hill to the left (west) is the visitors section (Lot VB, behind Cornerstone Building)
  • From VB parking lot, walk straight (west) into Applied Sciences Building
  • Walk through the building to where it joins the AQ (Academic Quadrangle)
  • Walk down five steps and turn left: the Gallery is 100 meters down the hall

    • By car from the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1)

  • Take Gaglardi Way exit 37
  • Drive north along Gaglardi Way up the hill
  • Just before main campus traffic lights, turn right onto University Drive East
  • Follow the signs to UniverCity and Tower Road
  • Turn left onto Tower Road
  • Proceed to "B" lots — last one up the hill to the left (west) is the visitors section (Lot VB, behind Cornerstone Building)
  • Follow walking directions to Gallery as outlined above

    • By public transit:

  • By Sky Train: get off at Production Way-University stop, then take bus 145 up to SFU campus OR
  • By bus from downtown or anywhere along Hastings: take 135 SFU bus, boards at Burrard and Dunsmuir, travels directly to SFU
  • Get off at last stop: SFU bus loop
  • Walk along paved path to your right (west). After passing the School for the Contemporary Arts, take the path that veers to the left
  • Walk down the stairs and enter the Academic Quadrangle. Walk straight — the Gallery is 100 meters in front of you
