Community forum report highlights recommendations to improve the health and quality of life of people with spinal cord injury
A summary report prepared by SFU Professor, Dr. Habib Chaudhury; UBC Associate Professor, Dr. Ben Mortenson; SFU Research Assistants, Shreemouna Gurung and Hailey-Thomas Jenkins; UBC Research Coordinator, Dr. Alfiya Battalova; UBC Research Assistant, Olatioluwase Olatona; and the Praxis Project Community Advisory Committee Members for the Praxis Spinal Cord Institute, highlights recommendations to improve the health and quality of life of people with spinal cord injury.
The report summarizes the recommendations made across 7 domains: 1) Equipment & Assistive Technology, 2) Financial, 3) Healthcare, 4) Access to Information, 5) Community Programs & Services, 6) Physical Environment, 7) Social Environment, to target actionable strategies within each domain.
This forum was part of a larger project entitled, “Improving the experiences of coping and managing health and function among people with Spinal Cord Injury,” which was funded by the Praxis Spinal Cord Institute.
