Citizenship and Culture

The Citizenship and Culture study group includes academics and professionals who are involved in various forms of cultural production. We focus on the variety of cultural expressions, literary, artistic, architectural and culinary among others, that shape Vancouver. Given the extensive cultural diversity of the city, we will also examine the complex relations between culture, identity and citizenship. We hope to highlight these questions in public events that will bring together members of the community engaged in cultural production. Drawing on the expertise of the study group members in different media, we would like to document our work in ways that will contribute to a definition of what constitutes cultural citizenship.
