OFFICE OF FRANCOPHONE AND FRANCOPHILE AFFAIRS (OFFA)

The Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA) is an administrative office at Simon Fraser University (SFU) that works in collaboration with the faculties and departments that offer programs and courses taught in French. OFFA also establishes ties and engages with the Francophone and Francophile communities of British Columbia, as well as with those across Canada and abroad.


offa's mandate

OFFA’s mission is to develop, coordinate and promote programs and courses taught in French at Simon Fraser University in order to meet the post-secondary education needs
of Francophone and Francophile communities in British Columbia. OFFA also organizes cultural activities designed to promote the value of French both on and off campus.

OFFA is jointly funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and the BC Ministry of Education under the bilateral agreement “Canada-British Columbia Agreement on Minority Language Education and Second Official Language Instruction 2013-14 to 2017-18”.
