Leading a multinational team of experts in printable electronics, sustainable energy engineering professor Vincenzo Pecunia has identified priorities and promising avenues for printable semiconductors to enable self-powered and eco-friendly smart sensors. Pecunia hopes that the development of eco-friendly technologies will lead us to a future of clean energy and sustainable living by reducing the carbon footprint, supply chain issues and energetic costs associated with complex processing and long-distance transport in conventional electronics manufacturing. His insights are outlined in a recent article published in Nature Electronics.
